History

As one of the oldest independent study abroad programs in Paris, CUPA (The Center for University Programs Abroad) has established itself as a leader in the field of international education.

Since its creation over 60 years ago in 1963 as COUP (Center for Overseas Undergraduate Programs), CUPA has been committed to helping American students pursue challenging and individualized programs of study in an immersive environment.

In 2010, CUPA joined the Hildegarde Education Group, which now includes Paris College of Art (PCA), Accent Global Learning, and SACI Florence. CUPA continues to evolve to meet the needs of our ever changing community of students. Implementing a summer program, formal methodology training, and a dedicated French Language Center are among some of the enhancements we have added over the years to enrich the learning experience.  Most recently, CUPA has significantly expanded its in-house course offerings, allowing students to take a full course load at the CUPA center and opening the opportunity for full immersion to those students who may not qualify for direct enrollment at a Paris university.
