History

As one of the oldest independent study abroad programs in Paris, CUPA (The Center for University Programs Abroad) has established itself as a leader in the field of international education.

Since its creation over 60 years ago in 1963 as COUP (Center for Overseas Undergraduate Programs), CUPA has been committed to helping American students pursue challenging and individualized programs of study in an immersive environment.

In 2010, the Program joined forces with Paris College of Art (PCA). This partnership has benefited students by giving them access to internship and research opportunities that are unavailable to other study-abroad students. Other new avenues such as CUPA’s summer session, continued Methodology support throughout the semester, and an exclusive French Language Center are the most recent developments in CUPA’s ever-evolving history of excellence in study abroad.
