A day in the life of Hannah Rosenman

A day in the life of Hannah Rosenman
French and History, Mount Holyoke College
CUPA Immersion, Fall 2025
As is expected, my day in Paris starts with my alarm clock. Despite my reluctance to get out of bed, I know an exciting day will greet me. Wednesdays are one of my favorite days of the week. I get myself ready for the day, including a fun outfit. Paris has allowed me to constantly try out new things. In regards to my outfits, the things I see on the streets are constantly giving me inspiration. Next, I head to the kitchen to eat a quick breakfast and say hello to my host family. I pack my lunch and head out of the door.
I take the metro line 3 and 4 to get to CUPA’s center. I love my time on the metro. Never having lived in a city before, the metro gives me time to take in my surroundings, read my book, or listen to music. I arrive at CUPA for my art history class. Often in this class we go to the Musée d’Orsay or the Louvre to see the works we talk about. I really enjoy having the opportunity to take this course, because it is something I never had time to take at my home university.
After a great class, I catch up with my classmates and the staff at CUPA. Standing around and talking in the hallways is one of my favorite moments during each day! It gives me a great chance to catch up with everyone else and practice my French in an informal way. Before my next class, I work on some assignments and eat my lunch.
Me and my classmates hop on the metro to go to our next class of the day, Paris Mosaïque. This class explores the immigration history of Paris. Today we are exploring sections of the Marais neighborhood to talk about Jewish immigration. We start at the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Judaïsme.
We go on a guided tour of the neighborhood and learn all about social life, old businesses, and more.
After class I pick up some bread from a boulangerie before heading back home. My host family and I then share an early dinner. This is one of my favorite things to do each evening. We share what we did that day, and anything else that strikes us as interesting. I head out once more to go to chorus rehearsal. We work on Verdi’s Requiem for 2 hours. Lastly, I head home to relax. Another great day in Paris!
