CUPA Summer
“CUPA Summer was my first time in Europe, and I would not have done it any other way. It was an amazing experience that I would recommend to any and everyone thinking about studying abroad. There was a good balance between work and fun, and I enjoyed every moment of my time with CUPA.”
– Dominique Romain, Yale University
Immersion is a unique experience that opens up many opportunities to students. Yet for many students, studying abroad for a semester or year can prove difficult because of major requirements, budget or time issues. We thus developed CUPA Summer, an intensive six-week immersion program in Paris that combines substantial course-work in French language, a selection of content courses and a rich cultural program allowing students to discover many diverse aspects of French society, culture and cuisine.
CUPA Summer is open to motivated students with a background in French. Classes are held at CUPA, which is located down the street from the Luxembourg gardens and within walking distance of the Quartier Latin. Research facilities include study areas, a computer room at the center, and access to the Bibliothèque François Mitterrand as well as numerous other libraries (Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris, Beaubourg, etc.). Students take 2 full-semester credit courses (45 contact hours each, for a total of 90 contact hours) and are required to speak French at all times.
